Sitting in front of her large PC monitor, she is bombarded with viral news—ranging from facts to the alleged. YouTube algorithms feed her digital broadcasts from the West, with content creators on both sides of the divide airing their views—Isaac and Ishmael; Donkey and Elephant; Bear and Trident. War, death, and oppression are the order of the day.
Her many clicks finally bring her home to reality—online echoes of weary youths raising their voices, expressing her homeland’s frustration with a political administration that cares little for its own. Leaders who line their pockets, fattened by greed, entangle themselves in meaningless scandals.

The viral online rant of a young citizen spreads like wildfire, igniting a movement— even the powers that be tried to silence it. The ongoing 30-Day Rant Challenge—watch, listen, and you will hear—there’s a lullaby for suffering.
Dear reader,
My apologies in advance if my piece carries too much of a political undertone. Today, I am participating in the dVerse challenge -Prosery, Leonard Cohen- while also taking part in an online protest here at home. So please bear with me!
Besides, you get to know a little about where I'm from... 😉
Happy reading! 😊

Nice write

You are not alone in lamenting the political climate in your country. So many countries are finding themselves in dangerous periods of unrest. I cannot imagine how we got here. I only know that history has proven time and time again, that the political stances that are currently being taken do not bring peace, do not encourage growth or upward mobility- and yet this is where we find ourselves.
Together we stand!

FK, this contrast between digital noise and real-life frustration comes through powerfully, and the final challenge feels like a call to witness and engage. Well done!
Much love,

Festival King, your use of the given lyric is perfect. It’s bad-but-good to know we are not alone in having to put up with crooked, stinking (literally) people put into positions of power.

Awwww, thank you Li 🫂❤️… sometimes I focus so much on what’s happening in the west just so I can get my mind off the pain and suffering here.
I’m not going to lie, I’m good by HIS Grace! 🙏🏽 – But a vast majority of us aren’t. Since this administration came into power there’s been such growing hardship… food is so expensive now! There’s a fast growing number of “homeless” youths on the street- I could go on- but my government does nothing about it.
I’m sorry! I seem to be ranting here again🤣. Thanks again for your comment and for stopping by🫂🙏🏽❤️

Maybe that is a way to do it… Stress the algorithms a little that are really just set up to engage with emotions…

Thanks Bjorn!
By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask, is Brian Miller still on dVerse? Did he change his sight name or something?🙂

Both Brian and Claudia left dVerse quite a few years ago…. I was offered to continue the site and did so together with Grace, and have since added more bartenders….
