Ogun and Osun
Cradles of fashion, harboring wax and dye baths
Inked designs on fabric that tell the children of Oduduwa apart
Products born of gifted hands, heritage, ancestry
The artisan’s toil births Nigerian high-fashion
Indigo stained hands are all in a days work

Although your poem was tricky to read with overlapping lines, it was very interesting.

I love writing that exposes me to another culture I don’t know enough about and send’s me down a rabbit hole. Yours did that with Ogun and Osun. Also very much appreciate this poem honoring the work artisans put in to create these beautiful fabrics.

How lovely those colors tell a story… I have recently learned that there is indigo from another plant also in the far north where I live.

Hahaha! I am actually looking to take an adire batik class. Hopefully I get to see the local plant being used here.
