Undressed

Barren
Stretched out
Naked
and
Reaching

Abortion
due to season

Unclothed,
Anticipating the embrace,
The white, crystal cloak
soon to bare over…
Blistering winds
do shake the buds,
Your ovaries
left
in cryogenic sleep,

yet

the
beauty
of your form
the
intricacies
of your fingers
the
vulgarity
in your structure…

Imagery savored in pixels

Your nakedness
relished
till yet another season…

Today @ dVerse Poets, Brian Miller is hosting Poetics and the prompt is based on photographic art inspiration (Photograph all provided by SueAnn) … Feel free to join in the fun! πŸ™‚

  1. dang…the hard and soft in this…the beauty of the form, but vulgarities of structure…the abortion line popped me…very intriguing verse.

The barren and beautiful play well together….very much the season…

hope you having a great weekend!

  2. I am glad you explained your use of the word ‘abortion.’ From your words and some of the other comments I thought it referred to something else. One definitely can see the structure of trees easier without leaves, and as Grace said there is beauty in this nakedness.

  3. A very strong, bold write. The same lines stuck with me. What impressed me most was that the word choices seemed natural, not force, or looked up. It really read like I was hearing from you; authentic.

  4. The comparison is apt. Some painters “see” the nude beneath the dress and some landscape artists prefer to paint their trees in winter when the structure is revealed.

    1. it is a wonderful picture, which sadly I cannot take the credit for… SueAnn is the photographer and her piece only inspired my words πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by and commenting though.

      Cheers! πŸ™‚
