Sunday, still sleeping
lazy head on soft pillows
church another day

In the name of God…

In the name of God inquisitions have transpired
In the name of God, death to the heretics and liars!
In the name of God crusades have been fought
In the name of God, religions have been brought to not
In the name of God wickedness is at its highest
In the name of God corrupt religious leaders smile the widest
In the name of God suicide bombs explode
In the name of God horrors still unfold
In the name of God many lives are lost
In the name of God an embassy was just torched
In the name of God, such foolishness is caused
In the name of God LETS STOP HURTING OUR GOD!

As sleep beckons

Eyes closing as I write
sleep, it is I strive to fight
Β Battling to keep the nights’ watch
yet embraced by the silent hush

Betrayed by yawns,
now Hypnos’ pawn
A tired head tilts
and slowly I drift,

Silken slumber bids me fall
the silence of the night, its seductive call
The fight to stay awake, in vain
as heavy eyes at last betray

I’ve got a new Blog!!!! …. “What My Preacher Taught Me”

Hi people! πŸ™‚

I’m writing to introduce a new blog of mine. Its calledΒ  “What My Preacher Taught Me

For a while now I have been making notes ofΒ  Sunday sermons from my church, which I have either been able to attend or listen in on. Up until yesterday I had sent some of these notes to friends after church, through texts and other forms of messengers.

Today however, I decided “why not just create a site where you can post these wonderful teachings, in order to bless the minds of not just the familiar but the unfamiliar alike?”. So here it is! I pray that you will be spiritually moved in some small way by these abstracts of mine, courtesy of sermons from Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.

PS- This blog was inspired by fellow bloggers such as Deb Feller, Paulette’s BlogΒ  and Ben Nelson who have knowingly or unknowingly challenged me to becoming a tool in the hands of THE ONE whom I serve, not just in my being but with the little talent I possess.

I thank God for this blog; I thank Him for you all and I pray that this post makes Him smile just a little wider πŸ˜€

Thanks for reading and please feel free to stop by at “What My Preacher Taught MeΒ  πŸ™‚

Blessed week! πŸ™‚

(O yeah! PLEASE give me till the end of the week! I should have my previous notes up by then, and from there the journey continues with other Sundays to come… God willing)

The Chronic

Living a little thinking I have little to live for

I-am screaming out sunshine, leaving its rays outside my door

I-feel nothing can harm me if nothing is real

So-I puff on a joint and let my thoughts be concealed

Won’t-let reality hurt me, won’t bathe in truth

So-I puff smoke and pass-out!, while sipping on some juice

This Queen ain’t havin’it!

Leave her earrings on the bed
they’ve already been seen
don’t even try to justify,
I’ll only kick and scream!

Yo hungry ass is full of grass
this shit you talk ain’t gon’pass
So pack yo bags at least for tonight,
stay another moment, and you’re in for a fight!

How dare you tell me this ain’t right?!
I’m not the one screwing a ho with slippery fingers!
confusing ma home for hers
using ma bed as a dresser!

O ‘n’ this AIN’T the first time I seen!
she knows I know, coz lately she left me her VS-panties
Its the silence she cain’t stand
wanting me to come FIGHT for ma man!

But see, what she don’t understand is
a Queen ALWAYSΒ  knows where she stands
I am the madam; she is the maid
I get home to love and respect; her scanky ass gets laid!

So run along to yo little girlfrien’
and feel free to tell’er all I said
and when the shit you’ve pulled, you realize
THEN crawl on back home and apologize!

For my BB…

Is that you staring back at me
sitting still, winking feverishly
pining for me to come to you
a shudder and a buzz
and more winking too

Is that you, hard to the touch
To hold you, how it reveals so much
as fingers caress you give such pleasure
your response as I tease
the moment’s treasure

Is that you, contesting for my attention
as you shudder, buzz and wink at my mention
I hate how you make an addict out of me
other things to do but NO, you want me now
and as you call for me I cower

Just the perfect fit
In my palm as you sit
loving me as I chat and I twit
Not caring how I’ve man handled you to shit
Knowing that should I run you down, I’ll get another kit

What to do when in Love

Dee Ezeilo's avatarDoris Ogale Ezeilo

When in love, fearlessly express your love in a variety of ways. Never worry about what others might say or think. Always speak the truth that lies in your heart.

When in love, gather all your courage with both hands, and feel free to beat up your man, or chase him around the village square as Ntsame Minlame did in Daniel Mengara’s Mema, at the end of the chase, you can always dramatically end the scene by using your machete on yourself, what better way to demonstrate the term β€˜crazy in love’.

Continue to love selflessly a person who has demonstrated countless times, the inability to reciprocate your love, a person who does not in any way deserve your love or friendship, when in love, you are allowed major acts of stupidity and great foolishness, after all, it is only fools who love.

When in love, please remember to act…

Seasons by Davida Echetabu

So tickled, I giggled…
You never forget your first time,
Amazed, Amused, Confused, Contrite
In my arms rested a masterpiece.

Lips, hips, fingertips temporarily paused,
So this is what it feels like?
What’s that in my eye?
A tear drop?!

Hush child… You deserve it.

Blush-sunset-silk-lush-tendrils-midnight-orchestra-milk-leather-tissue…
Not quite adequate…
I’m lost….
for words.

So I reach out, I touch, Feel, Experience,
Smooth, Coarse, Receptive, Rejective
I drink in; my eyes wide open slits,
I taste the sweetness in my soul & the saltiness of my tears.

Hush child…. You are worth it.

Blooming & blossoming,
Polka dots & stripes,
Twinkles & jingles,
All things bright and beautiful,

I’m in the spotlight,
Twirling & laughing,
The sunlight is happy,
The breeze is clapping,

A girl once moved by a bouquet,
A woman knowing she’s a well tended garden.

Hush child…. You are just right.

The Encounter by Queen Ewere

I watched his lips part
As I clung to his every word
In the sweet essence of presence
Swooning at his mercy
My eyes grow heavy
In betrayal too soon, dims

My heart drums up uneven beats
And I rumble into an ecstatic dance
My blood’s on a fiery course
Sweat breaks out on every pore
Yes, the world’s beneath my feet!
As my spirit sets to soar, I must be Alice

Shhh! Suddenly sublime
The crescendo comes to a screeching halt
“No! Please stay” I cry
And like a million others I wake.
Is this it? Did you feel it too? I search
Hesitant, yearning I rise from my kowtow.

Was thatΒ  you Lord, I ask?
An incoherent whisper,
“Maybe next Sunday I hear,
Just maybe Alice dear…”

Its that time again so please join me in giving a big welcome to my newest feature, Queen Ewere πŸ™‚

I read this piece off of her phone yesterday and it moved me. Its seemed like a verse out of songs of Solomon… you know, romantic yet spiritual. To me it portrayed a sort of spiritual ecstasy. What’s your view? πŸ™‚

Anyway, thank you Q.E for allowing me share such a wonderful poem, and thank you reader for stopping by! πŸ™‚

Cheers!
